What is Ruqyah?
The Medicine of the Quran
At its core, Ruqyah (Ψ§ΩΨ±ΩΩΨ© Ψ§ΩΨ΄Ψ±ΨΉΩΨ©) is the practice of seek healing foring spiritual and physical ailments by reciting specific verses from the Holy Quran and invoking Allah’s names and attributes through prescribed supplications (du’as). It is a direct conversation with our Creator, seeking His divine intervention and mercy for healing.
The 3 Golden Rules
- From the Divine Source: It must be with the speech of Allah (the Quran) and His authentic names and attributes.
- In the Sacred Language: It must be in Arabic, or what is known to be its correct meaning for those who cannot speak it.

A Vessel of Mercy
The power of Ruqyah does not come from the reciter (the *raqi*). The reciter is merely a vessel, a facilitator in this sacred process, whose piety and adherence to the Sunnah can aid in the effectiveness of the seek healing forment.
