In Islamic cosmology, all natural creation exists in unceasing remembrance (Zikr) and glorification of the Creator. Allah Almighty reveals in the Holy Qur’an:

“The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them exalt Him. And there is not a thing except that it exalts [Allah] by His praise, but you do not understand their manner of exalting.” (Surah Al-Isra 17:44)

Separately, the Prophet ﷺ taught that the company we keep leaves its mark on us — comparing a righteous companion to a seller of musk, whose nearness leaves you touched by fragrance whether or not you buy anything from him, and a corrupting companion to a blacksmith’s bellows, whose nearness leaves you scorched or smelling of smoke (Sahih al-Bukhari 5534, Sahih Muslim 2628).
