Nade Ali Dua: Benefits, Wazifa & the Sunni Ruling — Honest Guide
What is Nade Ali, what benefits are reported for it, how is it recited — and what do Sunni scholars actually say about it? This guide gives you the facts with sources, distinguishes tradition from authenticated narration, and offers Quranic alternatives. No miracle promises.
The Nade Ali Text (As Transmitted in Tradition)
Seekers of the Nade Ali wording find it below — Arabic with transliteration — followed by the honest scholarly discussion.
Transliteration: Nade Aliyyan mazhar al-ajaib, tajidhu awnan laka fin-nawaib, kullu hammin wa ghammin sayanjali, bi wilayatika Ya Ali, Ya Ali, Ya Ali.
Rendering: Call upon Ali, the manifestation of wonders — you will find him a help to you in calamities; every worry and grief shall be dispelled, through your devotion, O Ali, O Ali, O Ali. Status and scholarly discussion follow below — read before adopting any practice.
What Is Nade Ali?
Nade Ali (نادِ علیاً — “Call Ali”) is a supplication beginning “Nad-e-Aliyyan mazhar al-aja’ib” (“Call Ali, the manifestation of wonders”). It invokes Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah honor him) for help in hardships, alongside mentions of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Source honesty: Nade Ali is transmitted in Shia devotional literature, where it is attributed to a narration about the Prophet ﷺ at Khaybar. It is not found in the six canonical Sunni hadith collections (Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah) as an authenticated supplication. Any “authentic chain” claims for it come from non-Sunni chains that Sunni hadith scholars do not grade as sahih. We state this plainly because honesty about sources is an Islamic obligation.
Is Nade Ali Permissible for Sunnis?
The mainstream Sunni position rests on two evidences:
- Dua is worship, directed to Allah alone — “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help” (Quran 1:5); “Supplication (dua) is worship itself” (Tirmidhi 3372, sahih). Worship cannot be directed to any created being.
- Calling upon other than Allah for help — “Who is more astray than one who calls upon others besides Allah?” (Quran 46:5); “Do not call upon anyone alongside Allah” (Quran 72:18). Nade Ali’s wording calls upon Ali for help (isti’anah/istighathah), which is why Sunni scholars widely rule against reciting it as supplication.
Our position: Sarkar Healings follows the Sunni Qadri/Chishti tradition. We do not prescribe Nade Ali recitation as a Sunnah practice, and we advise Sunnis to seek their needs through the Quranic means below. If you need a detailed personal ruling, consult a qualified Sunni scholar — not a taweez seller.
Reported Benefits — As Transmitted in Tradition (Not Authenticated)
The following are the uses reported in Shia wazifa literature for Nade Ali. We list them because you asked what people claim — not because Sunni hadith authenticates them:
- Relief in severe hardship and distress
- Help with marriage matters
- Protection perceived from enemies and envy
- Success in lawful undertakings and court matters
- General spiritual strength in difficulty
Important: No verified testimonial can be offered for these — stories of miraculous cures and guaranteed outcomes circulating online (including previously on this page) have been removed because they could not be verified. Islam forbids attributing to Allah, His Messenger ﷺ, or pious figures what cannot be established.
How It Is Recited in Tradition (Descriptive, Not Prescriptive)
For reference — this describes the traditional practice; it is not our recommendation for Sunnis (see the ruling above):
- Performed in a state of wudu, facing the qibla, at quiet times (often after Fajr or in the last third of the night)
- Recited a set number of times (commonly 41, 100, or 110 in various manuals — these numbers come from later manuals, not from the Prophet ﷺ)
- Preceded by salawat (durood) in most manuals
Note on numbers: Fixed counts like 41 or 110 for this dua have no basis in authenticated Sunnah. Assigning spiritual power to specific numbers is a later innovation (bid’ah), not established practice.
Quranic Alternatives — What Sunnis Can Recite Instead
Every need people bring to Nade Ali has an authenticated Quranic answer:
- Hardship and distress: “Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear” (2:286); Surah Al-Inshirah (94) — “Indeed, with hardship comes ease.”
- Marriage: “Our Lord, grant us from our spouses comfort to our eyes” (25:74); “He placed between you love and mercy” (30:21).
- Protection from envy and magic: Surah Al-Falaq (113) and An-Nas (114) — the Prophet ﷺ’s own refuge (Muslim 814); Ayat al-Kursi (2:255) — guardian until morning (Bukhari 2311).
- Provision: “Whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out and provide from where he does not expect” (65:2-3).
- Any need: “I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me” (2:186) — addressed to Allah directly, no intermediary.
