Surah Profile

  • Surah Name: Muhammad (Muhammad)
  • Surah Number: 47
  • Revelation: Madani
  • Verses: 38
  • Core Theme: Steadfastness; consequences of turning away

Authentic Hadith & Benefits

The explicit Quranic promise in Ayah 7 serves as the primary virtue: “O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.” This verse encapsulates the Surah’s central covenant—divine assistance is contingent upon the believer’s active commitment to the truth. The Surah further details the fate of those who hinder others from the path of Allah, contrasting their ultimate failure with the gardens of paradise prepared for the patient and righteous.

This is among the most widely cited virtues of Surah Muhammad. Scholars differ on the strength of its chain, and many classify the specific narration as weak. What is not disputed is its core thematic focus on Steadfastness; consequences of turning away. We share the practice as it has been transmitted, and leave the grading transparent.

How to Recite for Maximum Barakah

  1. Purify Intention (Niyyah): Begin with a sincere resolve to seek Allah’s pleasure, guidance, and the specific blessing of steadfastness (Thabat) in faith and action.
  2. Perform Wudu: Ensure ritual purity before engaging with the Mushaf.
  3. Recite with Tadabbur (Reflection): Read slowly, pausing at the promises of victory (Ayah 7) and the warnings against apostasy and hypocrisy (Ayahs 14-16, 25-26). Internalize the command to not weaken or call for peace while superior (Ayah 35).
  4. Supplicate (Dua) Post-Recitation: Ask Allah by His Names Al-Qawiyy (The Strong) and An-Nasir (The Helper) to make you among the Ansarullah (Helpers of Allah) and to plant your feet firmly upon the Straight Path.
  5. Tawakkul (Reliance): Conclude by entrusting your affairs to Allah, confident that the outcome belongs solely to Him, acting upon the Quranic imperative rather than fear of consequences.
