Surah Dukhan Chapter in question revealed in Mecca has fifty nine Verses. It is the fifth Chapter beginning with the detached letters HM.

The word: dukhan (“smoke”) it attested twice in the Holy Qur’an. One instance is to be found in Chapter 411 concerning the beginning of this world and the other which may be found in the tenth Verse of the Chapter in question, makes a reference to the end of the world.

Most of the issues mentioned in the Chapter concern the Greatness of the Qur’an; it Revelation on the Night of Decree; Unity; disbelievers’ fate; the story of prophet Moses (as), Children of Israel, and Pharaoh; usefulness’ of creation; and the creation of the heavens and the earth.

Those who recites Surah Dukhan in his obligatory and supererogatory salats, would rise on the day of judgment among those who would be in peace and safety under the throne of Allah, his examination would be leniently conducted and his record of deeds would be given in his right hand.
Those who recites Surah Dukhaan, would receive a reward equal to the reward of liberating one hundred thousand slaves for each of its letters.
Recitation of Sura Al-Dukhan will not suffer any nightmares.
If Surat Al-Dukhaan is written on a china plate, washed with clean water, whoso suffering from migraine drinks it would be cured; it would also cure hardness of stomach and constipation.
