Virtues of Surah Fajr Benefits (Chapter 89)

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In The Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Surah al-Fajr (The Daybreak) Number of Verses: 30

Sūrat Fajr (Arabic: سورة الفجر‎, “The Dawn”, “Daybreak”) is the eighty-ninth chapter of the Quran with 30 verses. This Surat, like many other Meccan Suras, contains short, meaningful, awakening verses with abundant warnings.

There are several oaths mentioned in the first part of the Surat that have no precedent and are primarily for warning the transgressors about the divine punishment.

Another part of this Surat points to some of the ancient rebellious nations, such as the ‘Ad and Thamood people; and also to Pharaoh. The transgressor, and the divine punishment that destroyed them, which is a lesson for all arrogant powers so that they may take careful account of their situation.

In the next part of the Surat, which relates to the previous parts, Man’s trial is mentioned and his neglect, in doing good deeds, is very sharply criticized.

In the last part of the Surat the discussion is about the Hereafter and the fate of the sinners and unbelievers, and presents a contrast in regard to the great rewards that the believers will receive; those whose souls are at rest.

Surah Fajr Benefits

Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad sallal laahu alaihi wasallam, said that the one who recites Surah Fajr Allah (S.w.T.) will forgive his sins amounting to ten times the number of people who recite this Surah. On the Day of Reckoning he will have a shining light.
Our Beloved Imam Jaffar Sadiq (Radi Allahu Tala Anhu) urged believers to recite this Surah Fajr in their prayers as it is the Surah of Our Beloved Imam Hussain (Radi Allahu Tala Anhu) and the one who recites it often will be in the company of Imam Husayn (a.s.) on the Day of Judgement.
If Surah Fajr benefits is written as a talisman and then tied to one’s back, after which he goes into his wife, then Allah (S.w.T.) will give him a child who will be a means of pride and blessings for him.
