This is the night occurring between 14th and 15th day of Sha`ban. Traditions of Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him)&nbsp; , prove that it is a meritorious night in which the people of the earth get special Divine Mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the day immediately following the Night of Bara`ah, i.e. the 15th of Sha`ban, it is mustahabb (advisable) to keep fast. <strong>Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)&nbsp;<\/strong> is reported to have recommended this fast emphatically. A large number of the predecessors (salaf) of the Ummah have been observing the fast of the 15th of Sha`ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We should make an invitation to feed people on that night, to remember Allah (swt) and to remember <strong>His Prophet(peace be upon him)<\/strong>&nbsp; , and to fast its day and pray its night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allah<\/strong> willing all these acts shall be rewarded for it. There is one night in the year when <strong>Allah (Soobha Nahu Wata\u2019ala) <\/strong>gives the knowledge to the Angels, about what is going to happen in the following year, for example, who is going to die, who will be born, who will be ill and how much food people will have in the year, etc. scholars like Ikramah who is student of Abdullah bin Abbas (Radi allahu unho) says that night is 15th of Shabaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a Hadith which Imam Tabari (Radi allahu unho) writes: <strong>Prophet [May Allah bless Him and grant Him peace] <\/strong>said<em>,&nbsp;\u2018From Shabaan to Shabaan there is a decision made of who is going to die, be married and some people get married but their names are written in the death program.<\/em>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u25ba[Tafsir Tabari, under Surah Dukhan, verse 1 by Imam Tabari]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Hadith stressing importance of <\/strong> Shab E Barat { <strong>15<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Sha\u2019baan<\/strong>}<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imam Suyuti says: As for the night of mid-Sha`ban, Shab E Barat it has great merit and it is desirable (mustahabb) to spend part of it in supererogatory worship.<strong>&nbsp;[Haqiqat al-sunna wa al-bid`a aw al-amr bi al-ittiba` wa al-nahi `an al-ibtida Page No. 58]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*Among the hadiths stressing the status of 15th&nbsp;Sha`ban (laylat al-bara&#8217;a) are the following*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hadith #1<\/strong> :\u200fTranslation: Narrated by Aisha (radiyallahu anha) I missed Allah&#8217;s Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649&nbsp;\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647&nbsp;\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647&nbsp;\u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) during the night and found him in&nbsp;<strong>al-Baqi&#8217;.<\/strong>(this is a graveyard near Madina)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said:&nbsp;<em>Were you afraid that Allah and His Messenger would deal unjustly with you?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I said:&nbsp;<em>Allah&#8217;s Messenger, I thought that you had gone to some of your other wives.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He (the Prophet) said:&nbsp;<em>Verily Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, comes down to the heaven of the world in &#8220;the middle night of Sha&#8217;ban&#8221; and forgives sins even more abundant than the hair of the goats of Kalb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>\u25ba<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;[Sunan Tirmidhi Volume 001, Hadith Number 670, Ibn Maja Volume 002, Hadith Number1379]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8212; Note : &#8211; (Imam Tirmidhi(r.a) has created a separate chapter in Sunan Tirmidhi titled&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Concerning fifteenth of Sha\u2019ban&nbsp;<\/strong>in the&nbsp;<strong>BOOK ON FASTING.)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hadith #2<\/strong> :Translation: Narrated by Abu Musa al-Ash&#8217;ari Allah&#8217;s Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649\u00a0\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u00a0\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647\u00a0\u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said,\u00a0<em>Allah, the Exalted and Glorious looks down on\u00a0<\/em><strong><em>&#8220;the middle night of Sha&#8217;ban&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<strong>Shab E Barat <\/strong>and forgives all His creation. except a polytheist or one who is mushahin.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>\u25ba<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;[Sunan Ibn Maja Volume 002, Hadith Number 1380]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hadith #3<\/strong> :Translation: Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-&#8216;As Allah&#8217;s Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649\u00a0\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u00a0\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647\u00a0\u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said,\u00a0<em>Allah, the Exalted and Glorious looks down on<\/em>\u00a0<strong>&#8220;the middle night of Sha&#8217;ban&#8221;<\/strong> <strong>Shab E Barat <\/strong>\u00a0<em>and forgives all His creation except two people, the mushahin and the murderer<strong>.<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0\u25ba\u00a0[Musnad Ahmad Volume 003, Hadith Number 6353]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hadith #4<\/strong> :Translation: It is related by Abu Thalaba that the Blessed Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649&nbsp;\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647&nbsp;\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647&nbsp;\u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said: \u201c<em>On the&nbsp;<strong>15th&nbsp;night of Shabaan,<\/strong>Allah looks over at his creation and forgives all the believers except for the one who begrudges and hates. He leaves them in their enmity.\u201d<\/em><strong>&nbsp;\u25ba&nbsp;[Bayhqi, Tafsir ad-Dar al-Manthur Under the Verse 44:3]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hadith #5<\/strong> : Translation: It is related by Muaz bin Jabbal that the Blessed Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649&nbsp;\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647&nbsp;\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647&nbsp;\u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said:&nbsp;<em>Allah looks at His creation&nbsp;<strong>in &#8220;the night of mid-Sha`ban&#8221;<\/strong>&nbsp;and He forgives all His creation. except for a mushrik (idolater) or a mushahin (one bent on hatred).<\/em>&nbsp;<strong>\u25ba&nbsp;[Ibn Hibban, Sahih, ed. Shu`ayb Arna&#8217;ut Volume 012: Hadith Number 5665]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hadith #6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imran bin Husain (ra) reported Allah&#8217;s Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649\u00a0\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u00a0\u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647\u00a0\u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) having said to him or to someone else:\u00a0<em>Did you fast in the<\/em>\u00a0<strong>&#8220;<em>Middle of Sha&#8217;ban?<\/em>&#8220;<\/strong> <strong>Shab E Barat <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said:&nbsp;<strong><em>No.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet(Peace be upon him) said:&nbsp;<strong><em>If you did not observe fast, then you should observe fast for two days.<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>\u25ba<em>&nbsp;<\/em>[Muslim Book 006, Number 2607]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-href-https-sarkarhealings-wordpress-com-2017-05-06-wazaif-dua-for-15th-of-shaban-dua-e-nisf-shaban-shab-e-barat-target-blank-rel-noreferrer-noopener-nofollow-strong-what-should-be-done-in-this-shab-e-barat-night-strong-a-strong-strong\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sarkarhealings.wordpress.com\/2017\/05\/06\/wazaif-dua-for-15th-of-shaban-dua-e-nisf-shaban-shab-e-barat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>What should be done in this Shab E Barat night<\/strong> <\/a><strong>?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Holy Night of 15th Shaban, Shab E Barat after Maghrib or Isha prayer it is traditional practice to read Surah Yasin three times, and after each time, read a special du`a with the following intentions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><em>1st reading the niyyat (intention) for should be for Long Life.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>2nd reading the niyyat (intention) should be for Protection from Calamities.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>3rd Reading the niyyat (intention) should be for not being needy to anyone except Allah.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We should make an invitation to feed people on that night, to remember Allah (swt) and to remember His Prophet(peace be upon him)&nbsp; , and to fast its day and pray its night, will be rewarded for that night and for whoever observes it.In order to observe the Night of Bara`ah, one should remain awake on this night as much as possible. If someone has the opportunity, he or she should spend the whole night in worship and prayer. However, if one cannot do so for one reason or another, he can select a considerable portion of the night, preferably of the second half of it for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Shab E Barat Night of Bara`ah is a night in which special blessings are directed towards the Muslims. Therefore, this night should be spent in total submission to Allah Almighty, and one should refrain from all those activities which may displease Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fasting on the 15th Shaban<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the day immediately following the Night of Bara`ah, i.e. the 15th of Sha`ban, it is mustahabb (advisable) to keep fast. Prophet Muhammad&nbsp;&nbsp; is reported to have recommended this fast emphatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A large number of the predecessors (salaf) of the Ummah have been observing the fast of the 15th of Sha`ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, it is advisable to fast the 15th of Shaban as an optional (nafl) fast. You shower favours on everyone<br>And no one can do You any favour.<br>O The Possessor of Majesty and Honour,<br>O The Distributor of bounty and rewards,<br>There is no one worthy of worship except You.<br>You help the fallen<br>And provide refuge to the refugees And give peace to those who are in fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O Allah! If in the Mother of All Books that is with You<br>You have written me down as someone who is<br>Doubtful of achieving salvation, or deprived,<br>Or rejected or without enough sustenance,<br>Then, O Allah, with Your Grace<br>Remove all of these misfortunes from me<br>and in the Mother of All Books that is with You,<br>establish me as someone who is<br>blessed, with abundant provision and charitable good deeds.<br>Indeed, what You said in The Book You sent<br>Through the tongue of Your Blessed Prophet is true<br>That Allah changes and establishes what He wants<br>And with Him is the Mother of All Books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O My Lord!
