The All-Knowing,\u00a0 The Omniscient,\u00a0 The Certain-Knowing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\nAl-\u2018Alim\u00a0<\/em>ya Alim<\/em>u\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0is the One Who knows the details of affairs, and the intricacies of things, and the hidden things of the hearts and the souls.\u00a0 Nothing is hidden from His knowledge, not even an atom\u2019s worth.\u00a0 His knowledge encompasses everything, so do not be deluded by His beautiful veiling, and be ashamed of yourself before Him in the open and in secret.\n\n\n\n\n\nHuman knowledge is derived from things that exist, while existence is derived from Allah\u2019s infinite knowledge.\u00a0 In comparison to what we know of this creation, what we do not know is infinite.\u00a0 This world of ours is like our very own house.\u00a0 For these millions of years we have inhabited it, yet we still do not know what is hidden in the closets, in the attic, and in the basement.\u00a0 Sometimes we are like someone who is dying of hunger who has a treasure buried a foot under him.\n\nOur knowledge stays on the surface of a very few things.\u00a0 When we attempt to look under the surface, we see our impotence.\u00a0 And what about the future?\u00a0 We do not know what is going to happen to us in the next moment.\u00a0 What is this human life in comparison to the infinite past and the infinite future?\u00a0 It is a blink of the eye.\u00a0 How much can we see?\u00a0 Happy is he who can see that he cannot see.\n\n\n\n\n\nIndeed Allah bestows upon us all sorts of blessings, perfections commensurate to us.\u00a0 He taught us His Names, and what is right and what is wrong.\u00a0 But our life is limited.\u00a0 Our power is limited.\u00a0 Our knowledge is limited.\u00a0 We are limited.\u00a0 Try to feel the unlimited perfection, the unlimited knowledge of Allah, Knower of all, and seek His pleasure.\u00a0 Eternal salvation is contained within all that.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe One who comprehends everything. The One who is intuitively aware of all things, even before they happen.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe One who knows with certainty. The One whose knowledge of past, present and future is deeply rooted and complete in all respects.\n\n\n\n\n\nOne from whom no knowledge is concealed. The One who is aware of the complete details of all matters. The Omniscient One.\nFrom the root ‘a-l-m which has the following classical Arabic connotations:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
