What Are the 99 Names of Allah?

99 Names of Allah with Meaning and Benefits
Allah SWT chose 99 other names (Asmaul Husna ) for Himself. They’re called Asmaa Allah al Husna or Asma ul Husna.

When you recite them, you gain good deeds (hasanat).

It strengthens your prayers and attracts the Almighty’s blessings.

Reciting and learning about these traits can benefit you spiritually in a variety of ways.

Memorizing and practicing these attributes of Allah on a regular basis might assist a real Muslim to discover the right path not only in this world but also in the hereafter.

Memorize 99 Names of Allah Hadith
 In Surah Al-A’raf Ayah 180 it says:
وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

“And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.”

Hadith from Al-Bukhari #7392 which Abu Huraira Reports the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) as saying, “Allah has ninety-nine Names, one-hundred less one; and he who memorized them all by heart will enter Paradise.”

Narrated Abu Huraira: Prophet Muhammad SAW said, “Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise.”

Sahih Al-Bukhari – Book 50 Hadith 894

Abu Huraira reported Prophet Muhammad SAW as saying: Verily, there are ninety-nine names for Allah, i.e. hundred excepting one. He who enumerates them would get into Paradise. And Hammam has made this addition on the authority of Abu Huraira who reported it from Prophet Muhammad SAW that he said: “He is Odd (one) and loves odd number.”

Sahih Muslim – Book 35 Hadith 6476

narrated by Abu Hurairah RA, where the Prophet PBUH said:
إن للهِ تسعةً وتسعين اسمًا ، مائةً إلا واحدًا ، مَن أحصاها دخلَ الجنةَ
“Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise.”

Sahih al-Bukhari (6410) in Sahih al-Bukhari, in the Book of Supplications, under the Chapter Allah has 100 Names Except 1.
The Meaning of the Hadith
In this hadith, Allah SWT tells and teaches us The slaves of His honored names. It is wajib for us as Muslim believer to believe and has faith in the attributes of Allah SWT of His perfection without any defect. This is one of the basic requisites in aqidah and tawhid.

The names or attributes stated by Allah SWT are stated through His words which are al Quran or conveyed and taught by the Prophet PBUH in his hadiths. The scholars agreed that the attributes of Allah SWT are not limited to the 99 names but it exceeds this number.

Those who perform Zikr of Names of Allah are Wise and are promised Success, Peace, Happiness, Mercy, Forgiveness and Great Rewards in this life and the next. All of which are valued as being positive important factors in one’s religious and worldly life.

Whilst those who do not engage in Zikr are classed as being heard hearted losers who are clearly in the error and in the group of Satan… and as such, they will be made to live a tight and narrow life, full of misery and woe, punished in this life as well as being risen blind in the next and who will be remorseful of all the time not spent in the Remembrance of Allaah (swt).

Zikr Ullah is the practice of remembrance and meditation on Allah. It helps us to remain mindful and focused on His presence throughout our lives, so that we can draw closer to Him. On a physical level, Zikr Ullah can help improve heart health and circulation as it brings peace and tranquility to the body.

Mentally, Zikr Ullah helps reduce stress and negative thinking by providing a sense of clarity and joy in life. Spiritually, it brings about increased awareness, connection with Allah, and deeper understanding of His ways.

Zikr of Names of Allah can be practiced daily in many forms: repeating phrases like “Ya Hayy Ya Qayyum” or reciting verses from the Quran, dhikr beads, tasbihs (beads used for dhikr), and writing down names of Allah such as Al-Wadud (The Loving One), Al-Hakim (The All Wise), Ar-Razzaq (The Provider) etc. Reciting these names can bring spiritual healing to those who are feeling low and disconnected from Allah’s mercy. Practicing Zikr Ullah regularly will bring one closer to Allah and result in greater mental and physical wellbeing.

So exactly how important is dhikr?

Basically put, for a Muslim, Dhikr is a matter of life and death.

HADITH FOR DHIKR OF ALLAH BENEFITS :

Hazrat Abu Burda related from Abu Musa that the Prophet, may Allaah bless him and grant him peace, said, “The likeness of someone who remembers his Lord and the likeness of someone who does not remember his Lord is like the living and the dead.” ► (Sahih Bukhari, Book of Supplications, Hadith #6044).

“ …Remember Allah abundantly, in order that you become successful” ►Quran (Surah Al-Anfal Chapter 8: Verse 45)	“Believers, do not let either your possessions or your children divert you from the Remembrance of Allah. Those who do that shall be the losers”. ►Quran (Surah 63 Surah Al-Munafiqun : Verse 9)
“..Only in the remembrance of Allah (swt) will your heart find peace” ►Quran (Surah Al-Ra’d Chapter 13: Verse 28)	And whoever turns away from My Direction and Guidance (remembrance and advice), his worldly sustenance will be narrowed and We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection (as well).’ ►Quran (Surah Taha Chapter 20 : Verse 124)
“..Those men and women who engage much in Allah’s praise. for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a Great Reward” ►Quran (Surah Al-Ahzab Chapter 33: Verse 35)	..And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to enter a severe torment. ►Quran (Surah Al-Jinn Chapter 72: Verse 17)
“When any group of men remember Allah, angels surround them and mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them, and Allah mentions them to those who are with Him.” ► (Ref. Sahih Muslim, Kitab Al-Dhikr)	Satan has gained mastery over them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah. It is they who are Satan’s army. Know that indeed it is the party of Satan who are the losers. ►Quran (Surah Al-Mujadilah Chapter 58: Verse 19)
These are the people who, remembering Allah, remain standing (as the epitome of submissiveness), sitting (as reverence incarnate) and (also keep) changing sides (in discomfort of love) and meditate on (manifest lustre of His Eminence and Beauty at work in) the creation of the heavens and the earth….►Quran(Surah Aal’e- Imran Chapter 3: Verse 191)	“Those who are admitted into paradise will not remorse over anything of this world, except over the times in which the zikr of Allah was not utilised”►(Ref. Bukhari)
..their skins and hearts soften inclining towards the remembrance of God. ►Quran (Surah Az-Zumar Chapter 39: Verse 23)	..Woe, then, is to those whose hearts are hardened from the remembrance of Allah. They are in evident error. ►Quran (Surah Az-Zumar Chapter 39: Verse 22)
..And no doubt, the remembrance of Allah is the greatest.” ► Quran (Surah Al-Ankabut Chapter 29: Verse 45)	And whoso blinds himself from the remembrance of the All Affectionate, We assign to him a devil that he may remain his companion.►Quran (Surah Az-Zukhruf Chapter 43: Verse 36)
